Opening of the group international exhibition “Peripheries” in Ohrid and Struga

From April 25 to 27, the group international exhibition “Peripheries” will be held at the “Grigor Prlichev” Culture Center – Ohrid and Europe House Struga.

As the organizers inform, this exhibition was created during the thirty-day residency of eight international artists who stayed in Ohrid as part of the project “PROSPER: PROTOTYPE for sustainable residences in the Peripheries”.

The idea of the residency was to inspire artists to find a connection between their creative practice and the fragile environment of Lake Ohrid and its inhabitants.

“At the exhibition you can see the works of: Jara Asmar, Claudio Beorkia, Julia Ehler, Kafar Rzaev, as well as a performative poetry reading by Kata Gjorfi. Parts of the program take place on the Lake itself and in its surroundings. Marija Vidović’s murals can be seen in several locations in Ohrid, and the guided meditative sound experience of The New Liquidity – Anders Echlin and Selma Boškailo takes place on the Lake”, say the organizers.

They add that the residency was realized by 5 organizations, namely, Peripetia Production and LDA Struga, LUP – Greece, Echo Animato – Serbia and Ojun – Germany. The entire project was co-financed by the “Creative Europe of the European Union” program and by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The exhibition “Peripheries” was realized with the support of the Culture Center “Grigor Prlichev” – Ohrid and Europe House – Struga.
